Pleasant Hill First Baptist Church is joining hands with the Pleasant Hill community's local churches, businesses, schools and civic organizations to do our part in helping the tornado victims of Joplin, Missouri.  The effort will take several weeks - maybe months.  If you would like to be a part, there are several ways you can participate.  Please visit the information provided below for how you can plug-in at this time.  This website and our FaceBook page will be updated regularly with new information and ways you can help.  So, please continue to visit our website and FaceBook pages. Items That Are Needed!

The Joplin community has immediate need for the following items.  You can drop these items off at Pleasant Hill First Baptist Church - 125 N. Armstrong - Pleasant Hill, MO during the hours of 8a - 5p (Monday through Friday).  We will make sure those items are taken to Joplin at least on a weekly basis.

Current Needs: Water (by the case), cleaning supplies; food; juices; jelly; peanut butter; snack cakes; chips; instant oatmeal; personal care items (soap, shampoo, lotion, tooth paste, tooth brushes); hair dryers; shave cream; razors; women's personal hygiene items; baby needs (formula, diapers, ointment, body wash); all sizes of underwear; sun block; insect repellant; flash lights and batteries; rakes; tote bags; containers for clean up; work gloves; manual can openers; pots and pans; styrofoam containers with lids (used to take meals out into the community)... please, no clothing at this time. (updated 05/29/2011 - 2:25p)

VOLUNTEERS!

At present, we've been asked NOT to send volunteers to Joplin.  They are still very much in search and rescue operations.  However, we want to prepare ahead of time.  So, if you are available to volunteer a day, a weekend, a week, please contact us at info@fbcpleasanthill.org or call us at 816-540-5872.  We will be updating this site and our FaceBook page to let you know what kind of opportunities are available for volunteers to help.
